\nI'm a consultant\/machine learning researcher\/data scientist at Booz Allen Hamilton<\/a>\u00a0specializing in Deep Learning.\u00a0In 2014 I got my doctorate in Computer Science from the University of Maryland<\/a>, where I focused on the field of biologically-inspired AI. My dissertation was on executive function and cognitive control (working memory, decision making, etc.) using neural-inspired systems rather than rule-based ones \u2014 essentially trying to get computers to act in ways that are a little more like our brains and also get artificial neural networks to act a little more like traditional computers. I also\u00a0did work in analyzing and modeling social networks for the Smith School of Business' Marketing Department, and I've been active in Machine Learning and Data Mining.<\/p>\n

Outside of my academic research, I'm interested in economics and digital art.\u00a0I live in Ellicott City, Maryland, with my wife, two kids, and Westie.<\/p>\n
